Meet the Owner

My name is Brandie Peterson and I own Whispering Hands Wellness. Placerville has been my home all my life and I have practiced massage here since 2011. I graduated from Bryan College with an associate's degree in advanced therapeutic massage and bodywork. In 2012 I became certified with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork being the highest acheivement for a massage therapist. I have so enjoyed my career and being able to make connections with so many different people. Where I have truly felt my calling is working with women. In my experince I have seen so many women under stress having to deal with chronic illness. It is such a good feeling to provide some relief and peace to many struggling women. Massage has its benefits however it only scratches the surface of chronic illness. That is why I went back to school to persue my true passion: Reflexology. I am now certified in the Ingham Method of Reflexology. My wish is to use reflexology to help ease the suffering of women so they can have a better quality of life.

My Reflexology Story

My inspiration for this new career comes from my grandma, Rhoda Garcia. In massage school we had a brief study of reflexology but it was enough to real me in! I was truly fascinated by the intire concept and wanted to learn as much as I could. I took it home to practice on my grandma. She was always so supportive and more than happy to volunteer. My grandma had been struggling with Parkinson's for several years and I was curious to see if reflexology would help. I carefully worked her toes for 10-15 minutes and she was quite sensitive with little pressure! One of the major symptoms my grandma struggled with were the tremors and shakes. After our reflexology session she told me her tremors DISAPPEARED for the next two days! None of my grandma's medications did that! That is when I knew this is what I was meant to do. Unfortunately, my grandma is no longer with me but I know she would be proud. My women's studio is dedicated to her.
